six seeds in the feeder are sculptural tables made to hold the ceramic works of Laura Põld. The handcrafted tables include hand carved and hand turned legs, a cut and moulded aluminium top and handcrafted joins. One of the tables is inverted, designed so that the ceramic hovers above the surface, supported by intertwined tendril like ropes. Six apple seeds sit between them, from Lauras mothers garden.
Other legs use fallen maple branches gathered in Tallinn after a storm, and carve into their natural form. Some legs leave the carved shavings precariously attached in a hair-like texture. Others have the marks of being nibbled or gnawed into upon the smooth, polished surface of hand turned beams.
They were commissioned by Kogo gallery for the exhibition, Entanglements, a duo show in viennacontemporary, by Laura Põld and Sabīne Vernere.
